Brushed and Satin

This finish can be provided on most any substrate and at varying levels of length and depth.

This finish makes a linear pattern of lines on the base material and is used as a decorative finish. It is mainly applied to stainless steel, aluminum, nickel, and steel. We apply a brush or satin finish to many components in the appliance industry. We have a robotic cell that brushes refrigerator handles, and also stations where a trained operator can do custom or high volume parts.

The goal of a satin brushed finish is to take a raw substrate, remove defects, and give it a uniform, pleasing pattern. We offer multiple satin finishes depending on the abrasive wheel that best fits your application and requirements. The part can then be considered complete, or go another step and be painted, anodized, or plated.

Polish or Deburring

This finish can be provided on most any substrate and is used in preparation for paint, e-coat or powder coat.

This finish is mainly used to remove parting lines from castings and any raised edges of manufactured metal. This is a functional/non-decorative finish. It is usually followed up with a bright buff if the part is going to be electroplated or anodized and sometimes can be painted over.

We offer a wide variety of abrasives and grits to remove defects from die castings, extrusions, and roll formed or fabricated parts. This step can be done in a course grit to remove defects before paint or be taken up to a very fine finish in order to be bright buffed. We have dozens of stations and trained operators that perform this operation on a wheel, using a single or multiple step process to fit your polishing requirements.

Bright Buff

This finish can be provided on most any substrate and is used in preparation for electroplating, anodizing or for a final finish of stainless steel or aluminum.

This mirror like finish usually comes after a polish or deburring operation and is for decorative finishes. Parts can either remain bright buffed or this process can be used as preparation for anodize, electroplate, or paint. We can bright buff just about any material to get a mirror like finish.

This process can be done on a hand jack by one of our trained operators or be put on one of our automated lines for jobs that require high volume requirements. We perform this operation on many automotive programs, as well as the furniture and appliance industry.

About Us

General Information

Highpoint Finishing Solutions first began operations early in 2011, founded by James Davis and Tracy Boetsma. Both owners have spent their careers in the Metal Finishing / Electroplating / Machining industries.

Highpoint started with 30 employees in a 40,000 square foot facility and has seen tremendous growth to having upwards of 150 employees and 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space between all locations. Although still a young company, Highpoint’s staff has countless years of experience in the metal finishing industry.

Our specialty is high-production, high-quality parts, although we have the capability to run small custom batches of parts as well. We currently run programs with usage in the hundreds of thousands as well as single custom parts. These parts range in size from inches, to over 10 feet in length.

If you have a product that is in need of a decorative finish, a functional finish, assembly or any other service, we are your solution. We can take your piece of metal/plastic and turn it into anything you require. The only limit to what we can do is the limit of our customers imagination.

We have the tools and infrastructure available to be a one stop shop for all of your finishing needs.

Tow Hooks

Receive steel forgings from customer

The first step is receiving steel forgings from our customer.

Load into CNC machine

The part gets loaded into a CNC machine where we machine the raw material away to give the towhook its clean, desired shape while following tolerance specs from prints.

Polish and buff

The parts then get polished to a finer grit before they get sent onto buff. We buff the towhooks on one of our 8 automated buffing lines.

Chrome Plating

Once the buffing is complete the parts go out to be chrome plated.
